If you go in a little to hot and start to understeer you can give the brake some pressure and transfer some weight, mid turn, to the front wheels to help them get a bit more traction. It's an awkward feeling if you've never used your left foot for anything but the clutch but you do get used to it. Practice it on the streets and learn how to modulate the brake with your left foot first before you go out and try it on the track. Also, those karting tracks are a good place to learn since one foot is gas and the other is brake anyway.
